Archery Have you ever thought about trying the ancient sport of archer y? There are several different forms of archery Target Archery Target archery is the type of archery practiced at the Olympics, and is the version most beginners learn first. Archers shoot a set number of arrows at targets set at specified distances on a flat surface. It can take place either indoors or outdoors. Great news it's National Fishing Month ! National Fishing Month runs from the 27th of July to the 2nd of September and was set up to encourage everyone no matter what their age or background to have a go at fishing. Many experts in the field of fishing give their valuable time to support this wonderful sport and if you want to join in click here to find an event near you . Here at Reid Outdoors   we love a bit of twitching and we know that we're not the only ones so in today's blog we thought that we'd let all our fellow Twitchers what birds to look out for over the coming months. RED-THROATED DIVER The Red-Throated Diver can be found in the Scotland. These gorgeous waterbird like to breed besides lochs where you might see them bringing fish back and forth from the sea for their young. WOOD SANDPIPER The Wood Sandpiper is a special find, again based in Scotland they originally arrive in these isles in May , but then return in July. They are very shy, but one feature to look out for is their paler underwings, that distinguish them from darker Green Sandpiper.  BLACK GUILLEMOT The jet black colouring, with white wing ovals make the Black Guillemot one of the most striking sea birds. You'll find them nesting among boulders and on cliff edges on the north & west coast, but to see them in their largest...

Half an hour of absolute joy! We wanted to let you know about a BBC programme that all lovers of laughing and fishing should watch, ' Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing '. After these two comedy giants both suffered heart attacks Paul decided to help his good friend Bob take a gentle step back into living by going fishing. Paul the expert tries to share his wealth of knowledge with a easily distracted Bob, leading to great catches & even greater laughs. As well as taking us on a journey around some stunning fishing spots, the twosome also take us through how it feels to have such a traumatic event happen to you. Don't worry though as even when Bob tries to cook up heart healthy dishes for the pair, things never have a chance to get to serious.  So if you love good fishing with good friends as much as we do, then this is the programme for you. We're hosting the Olympic Trap Grand Prix again this year on the 6th & 7th of July at the stunning Glenmoriston Shooting Club.
